Faern has an intuitive sense of the interplays between the human form, the landscape and the light. She and I did an afternoon photo shoot on a warm, slightly windy San Francisco day. I wasn’t entirely comfortable in front of the camera at first, but Faern eased my nervousness in a matter of minutes and soon I was feeling relaxed and natural under the lens of the camera. She helped by giving me gentle direction as to how best to utilize the background and the light patterns to create a perfect portrait. After we finished shooting at the first location, we drove to the embarcadero to take more photos in a different setting. With only a quarter in change for the meter (8 minutes in San Francisco time) Faern captured some of the most classic and gorgeous photos of the entire shoot. I honestly can’t recommend Faern enough. She is an extremely gifted photographer, and a pleasure to work with.
