Faern is a San Francisco-Bay Area mixed media artist and freelance photographer.

With a bachelors in Art Studio, along with avid studies of Cultural Anthropology, Faern’s experience brings an atmosphere of liberation to her commercial work. She is a recent grant recipient from False Profit llc, for which created a new installment of her project ‘Interlude:Actuate’. For several years as a freelance photographer she has supported the Bay Area health and wellness community in branding their images with great success. Her work has been featured throughout highly regarded publications nationally.

Faern’s work is spontaneous and natural as her ideas manifest themselves with extraordinary detail and versatility. She has an observable multi-medium corpus of expression growing from a daily aspiration to produce constructive imagery. She resides between two worlds–the waking and the dreaming and she pursues her art with relentless abandon and professionalism in order to capture the ephemeral images all around us.

Faern has developed a vast volume of work, which exhibits a deft understanding of the dreams and shadows that make her photography, mixed media and oil painting unique and vocal. For Faern, inspiration is an ever-changing process of seeing and understanding. Faern’s mixed media work functions as a marriage of technique between the oil painting and photography content which allows for each medium to inform the other. This allows for a thread of continuity throughout her portfolios, a network of imagery, lines and textures. All of her work expresses a unique development of a textural quality- in her mixed media the layers of development have a more tactile, alive quality that makes you want to reach out and touch it while in her photography the building of the imagery brings out the essence of the situation at hand.

Faern is currently working on a number of freelance projects as well as mixed media work. She works with her clients to establish a creative representation of their business as well as to add comfort to the photographic and promotional realms.
